Wexford Women’s Refuge
This state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility now provides essential support to 12 families affected by domestic violence, offering them independent accommodation in a safe and nurturing environment. The refuge also features public spaces for children to play, while teenagers benefit from dedicated areas where they can relax and continue their studies.
MasterTherm has installed a highly efficient 105kW air source heat pump system, which includes a cascade of three BA60i units for space heating. Additionally, an AQ60ZHX unit delivers all domestic hot water at a reliable temperature of 65˚C. This sustainable heating solution significantly reduces the refuge’s reliance on traditional fossil fuels, which in turn lowers its carbon footprint.
By adopting this eco-friendly system, the facility is contributing to Ireland’s carbon reduction goals and embracing renewable energy sources to create a more sustainable future. The high efficiency of the system ensures that it delivers optimal performance with minimal energy waste, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In collaboration with Varming Consultants, MasterTherm Ireland carefully designed the system to meet the highest standards of efficiency, both for immediate heating demands and future scalability. The design not only maximises the system’s operational efficiency (SCOP), but also helps reduce the overall environmental impact of the building’s heating operations, contributing to long-term energy savings.
