St. Laserian Special School

This project was one of the first we delivered through the Pathfinder Programme. A cascade of 5 x BA60iS units now provides 90% of the space heating requirements for the school. The split system configuration ensures exceptionally quiet operation, which is vital in an environment like St. Laserian’s Special School, where the well-being and comfort of the students are paramount. Many children in this setting are highly sensitive to noise, and any unnecessary disturbance could affect their learning experience and overall sense of security. By delivering a near-silent heating solution, we ensure that the atmosphere remains calm and conducive to focus and development.

All heating zones are carefully monitored, and the heat pump software optimises the heating water temperature to maximise the system’s Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP). Weather compensation is further enhanced by integrating our smart space temperature terminals, pADs, ensuring the building’s climate control adapts seamlessly to changing outdoor conditions.

In addition to the benefits of a quiet, efficient system, the installation at St. Laserian’s significantly reduces the school’s carbon footprint. By utilising renewable energy from the heat pumps, the system cuts down on the need for fossil fuels, contributing to a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions. This not only supports the school’s sustainability goals but also aligns with broader environmental objectives, helping to lower operational costs and reduce the building’s environmental impact.

The system is constantly monitored and optimised online, enabling the lowest possible running costs while delivering maximum comfort throughout the building. This ensures that both the students and staff benefit from a stable, comfortable environment year-round, without compromising on energy efficiency or sustainability.
